Why it is beneficial...
This therapeutic approach assists clients in reconnecting with their emotions and owning their feelings. In a safe environment, clients are provided an opportunity to practice healthy life skills that facilitate their ability to 'see' their behaviors and how those behaviors impact self and others. All activities are completed on the ground. No horseback riding or knowledge of horses required. A client shared the following thoughts about her experience...
"It was seriously one of the most powerful moments I have ever experienced... I have no doubt I will look back on it and see it as a life changing, defining moment in my life." Nancy S.
A therapist stated...
"I learned more about my client in one session at your facility then I would have in ten sessions in my office." Terry L., LADC, MA

How it works...
Each therapeutic session is customized based on the client's desired outcomes. Through facilitated activities using horses, participants are provided the opportunity to 'experience' their behaviors. This therapeutic methodology is about 'learning by doing' which is a process that includes reflection and discussion regarding the broader application of the initial learning.
